Blessed Apollinaris of Posat (1739–1792) was a Swiss Capuchin friar and priest who was martyred during the French Revolution in Paris for refusing to sign the schismatic Civil Constitution of the Clergy. A dedicated missionary and preacher, he was beatified by Pope Pius XI in 1926 and his feast day is September 2. [1, 2]
