St. Lawrence of Brindisi (Giulio Cesare Russo, 1559–1619) was an Italian Capuchin friar, renowned theologian, and Doctor of the Church. A brilliant linguist and diplomat, he was a key figure in the Counter-Reformation, serving as a preacher and peacemaker across Europe before his canonization in 1881.
