Stunning 3.75" Gold Border San Damiano Wall Crucifix - Made in Italy
In 1205, Francis felt called to pray before the crucifix in the abandoned San Damiano chapel near Assisi. When the image of Christ on the cross miraculously spoke the words, “Francis, go and repair My house”, Francis accepted this as his mission. He first worked to repair the church buildings, but his great repair of the Church was his founding of the Franciscan order. The icon cross remains an important symbol to Franciscans.
