Scripture says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). How do we do that when we are suffering and in difficulty?
Do you know about Redemptive Suffering? Galatians 2:19 says, "With Christ I am nailed to the cross". When we unite our suffering to those of Christ on the cross, our sufferings and troubles areno longer filled with despair and discouragement. Then we no longer waste our trial in self pity. We offer up our sufferings and difficulties, in union with the unspeakable suffering of Christ our Redeemer and Savior, as our own prayers for special intentions. Is it really that easy? Yes! Just unite your sufferings with those of Christ in His Passion and offer up whatever difficulties you are going through as an intention for someone or some cause.
The Offer It Up Prayer Card enables you to offer up your sufferings and to record the intention and the day the prayer was answered. Use several cards to pray for several intentions and keep track of when you began praying and when your prayers were answered.
Card reads, “I can pray throughout my day: Jesus, I unite myself to You. And I offer up my sufferings for ___________.” There is room on the card to write the date that you began offering up your sufferings for this intention and a place to record the date when your prayers were answered. Order a few cards for several intentions and pass out to family and friends. Enclose with Christmas cards!
