The Divine Office for Dodos provides instruction using bookmarks and ribbons. Instructions on how to construct these are in the book. However, many people wish to have a pre-made set. Therefore, the Confraternity of Penitents has made available a sturdy, flexible plastic, pre-printed bookmark and eight differently colored ribbon set to accompany The Divine Office for Dodos.

* Sixteen bookmarks printed with black ink on white, waterproof, flexible, virtually indestructible plastic. Pre-printed on two sides with prayer endings and instructions for praying the Divine Office and coded with artwork to help you find your place in the Office by sight.

But, seriously, you really do know a good deal about many things, but the Divine Office isn't one of them. Regarding the Divine Office, you might be a bit confused. Maybe more than a bit. In order to prepare to write a book about St. Clare of Assisi, I stayed for a week with a convent of Poor Clares. One of the sweet sisters was assigned to me to help me with the Divine Office. She very patiently took this dodo under her wing and showed me each office (and the sisters prayed all seven offices in the Divine Office) and how to pray it and where to find it. By the time the week was up, I had practiced fifty offices and knew what I was doing. If you can find a convent of Poor Clares to stay with for a week, then you won't need this book. But, if you can't, then Divine Office for Dodos* is your next best bet.

Praying the Divine Office as Part of a Rule of Life

So who prays the Divine Office? Clergy and religious do. So do lay people who belong to certain Third Orders and Associations. So do other lay people who just want to pray this prayer of the Church daily. Doesn't matter which category you fall into. This book will help you.

Thank you for your efforts to help more people with the Divine Office. I have the 4 volume set and almost wanted to quit, but I didn't. I pray alone so only God knows all my mistakes and He will address them as He wills.

The ribbons are great, enough to cover the various sections of my Breviary (I use the Carthusian Diurnale) insert tabs a slightly too long but can be cut down. Good quality. Highly recommended

The set of ribbons are a great length (others tend to be too short) and variety of colors. Just the right amount for each section in the breviary.
