Product Description
This book deals with what Catholics believe about Mary, for it is essential to believe rightly if our devotion is to be worthy of her. The sections of this book have been chose from Cardinal Newman's writings. The first section is from "Letters to the Rev. E. B. Pusey", which is found in Newman's "Difficulties of Anglicans", Volume II. Newman wrote this in answer to a book by his Anglican friend, Pusey. His object was to show Catholic doctrine on Our Lady was based on the New Testament and Fathers. After this there are two sermons taken from Newman's "Discourses to mixed Congregations... Discourse XVII sums up much of what Newman has to say on Our Lady; in form and language it could hardly be bettered. Discourse XVIII deals largely with the Assumption.
Used very good condition, contains an ex libris mark.
