Cord has three knots as in the traditional Franciscan cord worn by Franciscan friars and religious sisters. Knots represent the three religious vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
Because these taus are hand crafted from olive wood, each one is unique depending on the grain of wood and its color. Size and exact shape may differ slightly from tau to tau depending on craft maker.
