Pope Francis has called us all to celebrate an extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, beginning on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, and continuing until November 20, 2016. Our Holy Father hopes that this Year of Mercy will encourage people to seek hope and healing in God's forgiving love. He has begun this year with an initial gesture of allowing all priests to forgive the sin of abortion in all those who have repented of it and to lift any excommunication involved.
